Midsummer Strings
Our Faculty
Members of the Marks Family and Friends perform in professional orchestras around the world and supplement their musical appetites with traditional and original folk music. They embody the ideas that good music transcends genre and good musicians gain inspiration from embracing the interesting and beautiful parts of the world around them. In addition to their expertise in performance, they are talented teachers to music learners of all ages.
Who Can Participate?
Violin, fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin players with modest to advanced proficiency on their instrument are invited to attend. Both classical and folk students will grow from playing in this setting. Reading music is not required. We encourage families to spend the day with musicians under the age of 6.
What Does it Cost?
Thanks to our sponsors, we can offer this full-day experience for $25 per participant, paid in advance. Registration with lunch and dinner costs $40. Non-participating guests can purchase meals (age 5 and under eat free.) Scholarships are available. Camping and lodging are available for those who want to stick around for a post-concert campfire and Sunday morning breakfast.
