Facilities at the Yew Mountain Center
500 Acres of Wild, Wonderful, Possibility
The property is backed up to one of the largest undeveloped areas east of the Mississippi. Several mountains between 4000 and 4500 feet in elevation are accessible by foot without crossing a paved road. Cross the paved road and you enter over 47,000 acres of Wilderness.
The Yew Mountain Center occupies 500 acres on the eastern slope of Jacox Knob. 450 of the acres are maturing upland hardwood forest with several miles of trails. About 50 acres are in pasture, old fields and ponds. The closest pond to the lodge is great for swimming, fishing and canoeing.
Our lodge features a central great room with stone fireplace, a commercial kitchen, a dining/meeting room and six guest rooms, each with a private bath. There is a large deck on the eastern side of the building and a covered porch on the west.
