Pocahontas Rocks

Geology Adventure

Presenter: Mary Sue Burns, field geology enthusiast and award winning earth science teacher.

Course content:  What in the world made the Yew Mountains and what was here before us...waaay before us? Participants will walk through time as we regard the weathering of the sedimentary mass that supports our community. Hands-on activities will deepen our understanding of the rocks around us. Tour nearby caves, fossil beds, and other geologic points of interest to discover the many ways Pocahontas County rocks!

We keep our programs small so we can be flexible to address the needs of individuals and the group.  Let us know how we can make this weekend work for you!
