The Droop Mountain Open Studios Tour originated at Brenwood Forge & Broom in 2019. Brenda and Woody Harman opened their broom-making studio, blacksmith forge, and home to showcase their handcrafted work and demonstrate their techniques. The were joined at their home by several talented local artists who live and work on and around the imposingly beautiful Droop Mountain at the southern end of Pocahontas County. This year the tour expands to include four sites and more artisans. Woody Harman passed away in the spring of 2020. The continuation and expansion this tour is made possible by Brenda and the local arts community in honor of Woody's deep commitment to his craft, arts education, and this community.
