Forest Therapy - Mountain Medicine Weekend
Bouns Moutain Medicine Weekend Session:
July 14th, 12:30 - 2:30 PM
Forest Therapy with Jess Bryzek
Experience the health benefits of mindfully interacting with nature during this guided Forest Therapy Walk. Spending time in nature has numerous physiological, mental, and emotional health benefits: enhanced immunity, better digestion, enhanced creativity, and greater feelings of connection and presence, just to name a few.
This slow, gentle, sensory exploration of nature invites us to deepen our connection to the more-than-human-world. On the walk, you'll experience a series of guided invitations to open the senses, cultivate presence, and bring awareness to our interconnectedness. This is a practice rooted in deep listening to the beings around you and to your own self.
Bonus Session of Mountain Medicine Weekend
Please bring something to sit on (outdoor blanket, tarp, sitting pad, or a camp chair).
This walk is free. If you are able, consider making a donation to the Yew Mountain Center in place of a participation fee. Gifts of $10-40 for this experience are appreciated.
About Me:
Jess Bryzek is a Forest Therapy Guide in training with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy. An ecologist by trade, I feel the urge to dually support the restoration of the land and also facilitate a deep healing on the individual and collective level. During our current times of environmental and social stress, I am motivated by the belief that there is no separation between nature and self. A commitment to healing ourselves is a commitment to healing our planet. Through the practice of Forest Therapy, I have cultivated a deep friendship with the forest.
