Thanks to support from the WV Department of Arts, Culture, and History, we are able to offer these affordable opportunities to work with professional teaching artists and YMC educators to make keepsakes and memories. Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics will add a brainy component our menu of creative projects. We'll have activities for ages 5 to adult throughout the event.
Create Your Own Wreath
3 - 5 PM A guided class to create a holiday wreath with natural greens, ornamental grasses, cones, berries, and specialty materials. Learn about responsible foraging, flower farming and a bit of b0tany from Artist/Farmer duo Katie and Adrienne. $15 per wreath Under age 8 needs accompanying adult. Materials are provided |
Cantastoria Workshop
6 - 9 PM Bread and Puppet Theater is bringing their East Coast tour to the Yew Mountain Center! Explore the creative possibilities of Cantastoria, an ancient storytelling form, as we consider how technology and inventions affect our lives. Attendees get a free ticket to their show the following night at the Lewis Theater! Free admittance for Wreath Workshop attendants $10/adult, $5/child No one turned away for lack of funds. |
