At the Yew Mountain Center, we are committed to providing an inclusive environment for all visitors.
Accessibility Features
Wide Trails: Most of our trails used for programs are wide enough accommodate off-road wheelchairs so more visitors can enjoy the beautiful surroundings. A 4WD or AWD vehicle may be driven by a staff member in to accommodate participants with mobility challenges depending upon the nature of the program.
Main Entrance Ramp: A compliant ramp allows ease of access to the main entrance.
Handicapped Parking: Designated handicapped parking is available for convenient access to the lodge.
ADA Compliant Bathrooms: Accessible restrooms are located at the far end of the building and are accessible from the outside.
Dietary Accommodations
We are happy to accommodate special dietary requests and do so all the time! Please call in advance or indicate your dietary needs on program registration so we can plan accordingly to provide the best experience.
Programs
Many of our programs involve presentations outdoors on wide trails in the forest or in clearings and may involve rugged terrain, exposure to the elements, and potential wildlife sightings. If these conditions present challenges, please let us know in advance and we will work with our presenters to ensure you are able to get the content and experience you are seeking.
Future Improvements
We have made improvements to the accessibility of the lodge since our nonprofit started managing the property and will continue to seek ways to be more inclusive with the facilities we manage. The Yew Mountain Center is currently running a capital campaign to purchase the property. Once we have achieved local ownership, we plan to make further major improvements to enhance accessibility for all. Your feedback and suggestions are welcome. Please reach out!
For any inquiries or specific requirements, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Your experience is important to us, and we look forward to welcoming you.
